Music + Explorers is an after school music program delivered twice per week throughout the school year. Inspired by El Sistema, the program targets at risk youth living in Red Deer North and provides socially empowered learning opportunities for children using music (and the arts) as a vehicle. Participants from grades 2 through 7 build self- confidence and resilience through exploration of instruments, music composition, social development, community and music repertoire. The group works together to complete homework, eat healthy, get some exercise and put together numerous public performances that raise money for social impact organizations in our community.
