Regenesis Centre for Recovery Inc. (RCR) is a nonprofit organization and registered charity in Winnipeg MB, Canada.

RCR currently provides live-in substance addiction recovery services for women and gender-diverse adults belonging to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community (2-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex/Intergender, Asexual/Agender).

RCR is the only organization in Manitoba offering a 24/7 staffed live-in recovery program developed specifically to provide a safe space and address the unique needs of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Program Model

RCR has developed an addiction recovery model called Wraparound Secondary Care (WSC). WSC is a holistic model of live-in addiction recovery support for women and gender-diverse adults. Designed for people who need more than outpatient services but do not require acute medical care, this model bridges the gap between primary treatment and independent living.

Relatives are supported through stable housing, individualized treatment plans, counselling, peer mentorship, skill-building, and relational care—wrapped together in a trauma-informed, 2SLGBTQIA+-affirming, and culturally responsive environment. Rather than treating recovery as a linear or time-limited process, Wraparound Secondary Care recognizes healing as ongoing, relational, and deeply connected to community, safety, and dignity.

RCR’s WSC model works by filling service gaps in Manitoba through three avenues:

1. Providing support to those on our waitlist

2. Providing 6-12 months of structured live-in care

3. Maintaining relationships with RCR graduates and providing support as long as needed

Who We Serve

Within the RCR community, we are focused on providing much needed services to those who have been—and continue to be—historically under-resourced in mental health and addictions care in our province and country. This means that our priority is working with clients who belong to the 2SLGBTQIA+ (2-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex/Intergender, Asexual/Agender) community. Intake priority is given to those also self-identifying as racial equity-seeking, those with disabilities, and/or those with unstable housing. 

The RCR Community

RCR provides a home-like setting for recovery, with emphasis on community connection and positive support. Our long term goal is to open a multi-residence community within the city of Winnipeg to include programs and residences for youth, families, and men/male-identifying individuals.
