This Kick Start Arts Initiative is a FREE filmmaking, and theatre creation initiative for youth from Regent Park and beyond. 

Over the past five years we have built an amazing community of emerging artists ages 12-29. Using our unique process of co-creation we have produced two seasons of a web series telling the stories of their 'lived experiences'. We are currently working on a theatrical adaptation with dramaturgical support from  SoulPepper Theatre, and are creating the content for what we will film next. We are also offering dance training.

• Train as actors and writers with Master teachers. 

• Participate in workshops with industry leaders, attend events, and engage in internships.
• Experience the process of film and theatre production through hands-on professional-calibre productions.
• Learn from top professionals in the field - often doing so by working along-side them.
• Gain connections and build relationships within a caring community.

• Ten of our actors have agents, and are working in the industry.

• One is studying screenwriting at York. 

• One is in the Media program at OCAD University
• Another has graduated from Humber's acting program
• Others are working in the industry in producing, writing and directing roles.
• Many are in post-secondary institutions, and in the work world,  buoyed by the skills they have gained.
• We have created a community where we support one another, and friendships and creative synergies abound.
