Répit-Providence is a recognized and accredited community group by the Ministry of Health and Social Services.
History: Répit-Providence has been created to meet the needs expressed by the community since 1995.
Mission: Our mission statement is to support families and children through crisis by offering two days or more overnight respite. The Répit-Providence helps to foster a child’s emotional well-being through the maintenance of the parent-child bond, which in turn favours an environment conducive to the prevention of further social problems.
About REPIT PROVIDENCE, MAISON HOCHELAGA-MAISONNEUVE
Services: Répit-Providence offers a place of support adapted to children who are referred by Social Service Workers and Community Organizations. We offer shelter to children between 0 to 5 years of age and their siblings up to 12 years old for a maximum period of 54 hours consecutively. Répit-Providence provides its services to needy families and their children for up to 80 hours per week.
Attendance Statistics: During 2019, we offered 1166 respite periods to more than 260 needy families and their children.
