About Ridge Meadows Hospice Society
The Ridge Meadows Hospice Society is a registered non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing compassionate support and specialized programs for individuals and families experiencing death, dying, grief, and loss.
Founded in 1980 by Edna Trethewey, a former public health nurse, the Society was established in response to a growing need for compassionate end-of-life and family support in the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows communities. Since its founding, Ridge Meadows Hospice Society has grown to become the sole provider of specialized grief and loss support at McKenney Creek Hospice and throughout the local community.
Our palliative and grief support programs serve individuals of all ages and their families who are living with a life-limiting illness or coping with the death of a loved one. Through grants, donations, fundraising initiatives, and our thrift store, we are able to offer these essential services free of charge to community members in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.
