Right at Home is a community-based, charitable organization with a mission to strengthen communities by building and managing permanent housing that is affordable, safe, and supportive for people facing housing insecurity in Edmonton.  

Right at Home is built on the legacy of two exceptional organizations, the Edmonton Inner City Housing Society and Intermet. Both organizations started in the mid-1980s when concerned citizens banded together to provide housing solutions for their communities. Starting from a single duplex, Right at Home has grown to close to 700 units during our 35+ year history, which currently house over 1800 Edmontonians. 

Right at Home recognizes that truly attainable housing is more than just a roof overhead: it’s about providing supports all around. Our organization provides a range of supportive services for our residents, including a non judgmental and inclusive community, mentor and peer support, and opportunities for employment and life skill development. 

Right at Home is committed to community. We ensure our housing developments are sensitive to the community context and are well integrated into surrounding neighbourhoods, both socially and physically. We work to  develop community acceptance for the work we do. This means building relationships and awareness in the communities where we operate and among the public in general.
