Rights Action funds community-controlled development, environment and human rights defense struggles, and disaster relief projects in Guatemala and Honduras, as well as in southern Mexico and El Salvador. We carry out education and activist work in Canada and the US about how the 'global north' sometimes causes the poverty, environmental harm and rights violations in Honduras, Guatemala and beyond, and how northamericans can get involved in and work on these issues.
About Our Charity
Rights Action operates with one fulltime staff. For over 25 years, Grahame Russell - a non-practising Canadian lawyer, writer, adjunct professor and public speaker - has been director. On request, we can send you background information about the issues we work on, and proposals for the grassroots organizations and projects we fund. Channeling your funds to our grassroots partner groups, who are taking the lead in working and struggling for "another world is necessary and possible", is a priority aspect of our work.
What People Are Saying
