Rocklin Reboots gives those financially pressed, a much needed computer.
Rocklin Reboots realizes the enormous value of the personal computer. It allows one to attend school, fully access medical care, attain and retain employment, and keep in touch with loved ones around the world. Without a reliable personal computer, individuals and families are hampered from advancing in their lives. Rocklin Reboots strives to ensure everyone in our community has full access to today’s digital tools, especially those unable to afford a reliable computer.
We take donated computers, clean them of any data using the military grade Red Key USB erasure technology. We then renew them with an Operating System from Linux. Linux is a free and open source Operating System that places less demands on the hardware it runs on (compared to Windows or Mac OS). This allows older computers to function like a new computer when running Linux. You can browse the internet, use email, have Zoom meetings, stream video, and create Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. You can use the Chrome Browser, Spotify, Apple Music, Whatsapp Desktop, and much more. This allows Rocklin Reboots to provide highly functional computers, using donated hardware, to those who face financial hardship and poverty. Rocklin Reboots makes sure all qualifying households that request a computer, get one that is adequate for their needs.
