RMHC South Central Ontario is a regional resource for families of critically-ill children who are being treated at local hospitals.
ABOUT USRonald McDonald House operates an essential mission in Canada as the only national organization enabling access to Canada’s paediatric healthcare system. When a child is sick or injured, Ronald McDonald House surrounds their family with the care, support and resources they need to be at the heart of their child’s care, enabling the best possible health outcomes.
OUR CHAPTEROur South Central Ontario chapter serves the population of families from Niagara to Hamilton-Halton, Brant and Norfolk County across to Kitchener-Waterloo and Guelph.
We operate a 40 bedroom House across the street from McMaster Children's Hospital where families can stay while their child is being treated in the hospital. We also provide Family Rooms in McMaster Children's Hospital and Marotta Family Hospital - these are places of respite where families can take a break, grab a bite to eat, and even do a load of laundry. They are spaces of normalcy within the beeping, clinical, hospital wards.
We also provide a Care Cart service - these are hospitality carts stocked with refreshments, snacks, and toiletries. Volunteers take the Carts to rooms in the Ward so parents don't have to leave their child's bedside.
Ronald McDonald House® South Central Ontario plays a vital role in enhancing the overall well-being of both children and their caregivers, ultimately contributing to improved treatment outcomes and stronger family bonds during challenging times. With your support, Ronald McDonald House remains a place where family stays together.
HOW YOU CAN HELPEach year as a result of the programming, accommodations and other essential services of daily living, Ronald McDonald House South Central Ontario saves families and average of $4 Million in out-of-pocket expenses.
