About ROSARIO ANCER FLAMENCO ARTS SOCIETY
The mandate of Flamenco Rosario is to develop artists as well as dance and music works in the style and tradition of flamenco. A unique quality of flamenco is that it continues to develop and evolve as a cultural form while still maintaining strong ties with tradition and history.
As an interpreter of flamenco dance, Artistic Director Rosario Ancer is interested in the continuing growth and evolution of the art form, rather than simply reiterating its past. The company explores the possibilities of flamenco by crossing boundaries of history and culture, incorporating dancers from other dance traditions, international dance artists, musicians and vocalists into the development of new work.
Ongoing activities include the Cuadro Flamenco, the Flamenco Festival, and mainstage performances with local, national, and international guest artists. The company honors the rich flamenco tradition and produces presentations that stretch the boundaries and evolution of the art form.
