ABOUT ROSE COTTAGE VISITING VOLUNTEERS
A registered charity organization providing palliative and end of life support to the residents of Grimsby, Beamsville, Smithville, Wainfleet, Caistor Centre, Vineland, Jordan, and surrounding areas.
Rose Cottage Visiting Volunteers undergo a vulnerable sector check and are trained in issues relating to palliative care through the Hospice Palliative Care Ontario program. Our services are available FREE of charge to anyone living with terminal or life threatening illness while at home, hospital, hospice or care facility.
Our volunteers compassionately serve our clients, providing companionship and emotional support for both the client and caregiver. Volunteers carry out simple non-medical tasks at the client's request, such as reading, writing letters, organizing family photos, or even finishing the knitting of a sweater for a person too ill to finish on their own.
Our programs include Visiting Volunteers (in person and/or virtual support), bereavement support, monthly care package delivery program, and our legacy creation program, where clients share their life's story and a legacy book is created.
Rose Cottage Visiting Volunteers listen to client concerns, and with consent, will advocate with the organization to help find the resources needed. Our knowledge of “the system” works as an invaluable aid to individuals and families who already have too much on their mind.
Our office hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm
