The Rotary Club of Pictou

Established in 1943, we are a member club of Rotary International; a network of volunteers made up of nearly 32,000 clubs in over 200 countries and geographical areas.

Like the other 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide we are community, professional and business leaders who enjoy fellowship and have fun pursuing meaningful community and global projects.

We welcome new members to help us reach our goals and set new ones.

The Pictou Club contributes locally and internationally to things like:

• The West Pictou Food Bank

• The Pictou Academy and Northumberland High School Prize Funds

• The Pictou/Antigonish Regional Library

• Contributions to individual students undertaking educational/cultural travel

• Construction of the Field House at the John Chisholm Soccer/Baseball Field located next to the McCulloch School.

• The ShelterBox Program which is targeted to provide shelter and equipment anywhere in the world when disaster strikes.

• The Rotary Foundation and Polio Plus (Rotary International is striving to eliminate Polio world wide).

Our major fundraising activities each year include a Lobster Burger Booth during the Pictou Lobster Carnival, a ticket draw at Christmas and, our biggest effort, the annual musical theatre presentation at the DeCoste Center.
