The members of the Sabre Pilots Association of the Air Division Squadrons (SPAADS) in collaboration with the RCAF Association have agreed to help young Canadians aspiring to an aerospace career, military or civilian, by contributing to the Air Cadet League's Continuation Flying Training Program (RCAF Association Trust Fund Account), which provides (currently) up to three $2,500 bursaries or scholarships either for continuation flying training, or for tuition, books and other requirements for a supported and recognized post-secondary education institution aerospace-related program of study. The RCAF Association Trust Fund - Air Cadet League account is established to provide for up to three $2,500 bursaries, drawn solely from the interest income generated on an annual basis. When this account reaches $300,000 (currently it sits at $272,000 as at 1 October 2019) it will be possible to explore how to generate another $2,500 bursary, or more. SPAADS contributions are expected to be sufficient to permit from 2020 onward one more $2,500 bursary as part of the RCAF Association-SPAADS partnership ad infinitum. In other words, starting in 2020, one of the three CFTP bursaries provided by the RCAF Association annually, will be credited in the name of SPAADS, going forward.
