Response for Healthy Children (RRHC) is a non-profit charitable organization serving Huron County families.
We educate students about child abuse prevention and healthy relationships, including online safety. We facilitate parenting groups throughout the County to help moms/dads/caregivers cope with vulnerable situations and learn positive parenting skills to help their children thrive. We help families get what they need; whether it is food, transportation or other community support.
Support and education focuses on providing services to families living in conditions of risk. This means families who experience isolation (single parents, newcomers, grandparents raising grandchildren), low income, inadequate housing, insecure employment, food insecurity and other conditions of risk such as teenage parenting, situations of violence/neglect and addictions. The current COVID19 pandemic is considered a condition of risk for all families.
We are proud of the work Rural Response for Healthy Children provides to our community. It is widely known by partners and families that Rural Response for Healthy Children is a place where staff are caring, non-judgmental and a safe place to build trust for the resources and education families need to connect, engage and thrive.
Established over 30 years ago, as the Huron County Coordinating Committee for Child Abuse Prevention, the organization has evolved to a key provider of support and resources for parents and their children. The organization's work is funded by community donations and government for specific programs.
Thank you for taking time to learn about our organization and for considering a donation.
