Russian school "Svetlyachok", that means Firefly in Russian language, celebrated its 10 years anniversary in 2015. For all these years, the school has been justifying its name - to be the torch of knowledge, kind and friendly relations - the place where both children of all ages and their parents wanted, after leaving, to come back repeatedly.

The big merit in it belongs to creative pedagogical staff. Our teachers, as a rule, have not just a high pedagogical education, but many of them participate in contests. Teachers are innovators in use of modern techniques and they increase their professional level by taking distance-learning programs.

History of school began with the idea of communication between different generations of Russian-speaking immigrants through studying of language, history and culture.

At first, there was a small group of children, and now the school grew in tens of times.

For these years "Firefly" from usual language school has turned into organization of the general education with profound studying of Russian, literature, nature, history, geography, mathematics, chemistry and physics.

Education level of our students attracts interest of the Canadian public school teachers who desire to be acquainted with an education system and techniques of the Russian school for the purpose of exchange and enrichment of experience.

Our school is eligible to hold exams in Russian language and after successful passing, students receive credits at universities.
