Ryde Co-op is a volunteer run, community based, not-for-profit charitable organization providing social, wellness and educational programming for all ages.
We are a volunteer-run, not for profit community hub that has been operating for 25 years in a rural area of Gravenhurst.
The Ryde Co-op has successfully managed many projects including:
- The Ryde Barn Quilt Trail and 135thAnniversary of Ryde celebrations in 2014
- Purchase of our building from the Trillium Lakelands District School Board in 2016
- Installation of new pitched roof, tiled floors and energy efficient windows in 2018
- Accessibility renovations
- Updating our financial records to QuickBooks
- Annual Seniors’ Fair
- Publication of History of Ryde book and DVD set
- Free VON SMART exercise classes run by trained senior volunteers
- Free Yoga classes run by qualified volunteer instructor
- Community meals
- Publication of our monthly newsletter, The Ryder, which is distributed by ad mail to every mailbox in Ryde and by email to a total of over 400 households
- Website and Facebook accounts
- EarlyOn site: free program for children and caregivers every Thursday
