RCMSAR 31 is the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station in Brentwood Bay, BC. It has been run by a group of dedicated volunteers since 2011 and provides services to the whole boating community in and around the Saanich Inlet and beyond to the Gulf Islands. A rescue boat has been based in Brentwood Bay since the early 1980’s.  Station 31 serves the Saanich Inlet from Goldstream out to Satellite Channel / Samsun Narrows and environs.

What we do for our community: RCMSAR Video

  • We are volunteer members of our community
  • We are trained in Marine Search and Rescue and Marine emergency First Aid
  • We respond to marine emergencies with a fast response vessel 24/7 365 days per year  
  • We promote safe boating, drowning prevention and general marine safety through education

     Pleasure Craft Safety Checks

     Summer Saturday Night Firework Patrols

     Year round ‘Kids Don’t Float’ (KDF) Free Loaner PFD Stations.
