Our Mission: Saving lives on the water
About Saanich Marine Rescue Society
The Saanich Marine Rescue Society funds the operation of the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue (RCM-SAR) Station 36 (North Saanich) specialized rescue vessel designed for the challenges of the West Coast. Our highly trained volunteer crews are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ready to respond to any requests for assistance from regional municipalities, the Province, and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Victoria for marine emergency taskings on the waters surrounding the Saanich Peninsula. In addition, we provide boating safety information and a loaner program for kids’ lifejackets (Kid's Don't Float Program). The society supports the vessel and programs with donations from the public and grants. We value your support and thank you for your valuable contributions which assist us in saving lives on the water.
