Our Mission
The Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank "helps people help themselves". We do that in a variety of ways but primarily by providing a food hamper designed to supplement a client's food needs. All funding for the Food Bank comes directly from our community. We do not receive government assistance to operate any part of the organization.
About Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank
The Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank has been operating since 1984 to help those hurt by a downturn in the economy. Since our modest beginnings, we have helped thousands of people. The Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank is a non-profit, charitable organization run by a board of directors. The Board oversees the Executive Director and volunteers who run the day to day operations of the Food Bank. The food bank services the Saanich Peninsula on Vancouver Island. We feed over 1200 people a month, 39% are children under the age of 16.
