Our Mission
VISION
SACHA envisions a world free of violence and oppression.
MISSION
SACHA is a feminist, non-profit, community-based organization of women guided by anti-racist and anti-oppressive values. Understanding the dynamics of gender and power in sexual violence, our programs will:
- Provide services to people who have experienced sexual violence at any point in their lives.
- Work to end violence and oppression through education, advocacy, coalition-building, community partnerships and activism.
- Work towards the equitable inclusion of all women
SACHA will challenge social and political structures and systems that contribute to the experience of violence, oppression, and exploitation of all people.
About SACHA - SEXUAL ASSAULT CENTRE (HAMILTON AND AREA)
We provide support to adults (16 and older), who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives. Services are confidential and free of charge. We offer non-judgmental service that respects the right to safety and privacy.
We attempt to respond to the needs of all survivors. We recognize that they are diverse in their racial or ethno-cultural background, sexual orientation, physical or intellectual abilities, and other experiences. We will provide information and support so they may make their own choices and decisions.
The Diverse Communities Outreach Program offers supportive programming for women from Hamilton’s diverse racial and cultural communities, in particular women who are aboriginal, immigrant and refugees.
SACHA's Public Education program offers workshops, trainings and presentations on sexual assault law, consent, supporting survivors and anti-oppression.
