We are all about empowerment.
Sagesse is uniquely positioned to disrupt the structures of domestic abuse in Alberta. We are active in communities across Alberta – either directly providing service or partnering with agencies to deliver programs on our behalf.
We work each day to support individuals effected by abuse while also challenging social norms and advocating for large-scale societal changes that will eradicate abuse in Alberta.
Our work includes:
- Peer support groups and mentorship for people who have experienced domestic abuse, are at risk of being abused, or have been involved in sex work.
- Capacity building workshops about the experience of domestic abuse within 2SLGBTQQIA+ communities.
- Education to informal support networks about how to recognize domestic abuse, respond (based on the situation), and refer to the appropriate supports.
