The Saint John Theatre Company is a leading Canadian performing arts organization that produces and presents professional and community-based performances. We aim to entertain, educate, employ, and enrich our community.
Who we are
In 1990 a group of dedicated individuals got together to form a company with one simple idea in mind: Saint John is a great city and, like every other great city, it deserves a great theatre company
The SJTC has a 34 year history of growing the theatre arts sector in Southern New Brunswick. The company has grown from producing a handful of theatre productions each year to a broad spectrum of opportunities for artist and audience, including the annual Fundy Fringe Festival, a professional theatre and music presentation series, and most recently the Atlantic Repertory Company (ARC).
Many community-based artists have worked with the SJTC over the years creating an alumni base of close to 3000 individuals who have worked onstage and backstage in SJTC productions. The company currently averages over 180 performances each year of over 40 creative works, making it one of the most prolific theatre-makers in Atlantic Canada.
