Extreme rainfall and flooding has damaged at least 180 homes in western Manitoba. You can help.
On June 7, 2026, the Municipality of Minitonas-Bowsman in western Manitoba was hit by an extreme rainfall event that dropped approximately 148 millimeters of rain in just a few hours, washing out roads and damaging critical infrastructure. Residents watched helplessly as water, mud, and sewage seeped into their homes. At least 180 local residences were flooded.
At the invitation of the municipal government and a local church partner, Samaritan’s Purse Canada is deploying our Disaster Relief Units and specialized recovery personnel to help. We are mobilizing volunteer teams to bring immediate relief to impacted families, removing mud and debris, stripping out saturated drywall and insulation, and dealing with ruined furniture and appliances.
