On the banks of the St. Lawrence River, in the heart of Quebec, the modest stone church built in 1920 became the Sanctuary of Cap-de-la-Madeleine, dedicated to Mary.

At the end of the 19th century following the events of the Ice Bridge and the Prodigy of the Eyes, Blessed Frédérique Jansoone, Franciscan, promoted pilgrimages. Since 1902, the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate have been responsible for the work and providing pastoral services.  

Every year, thousands of believers come from all over this place of prayer where Our Lady leads them to the Gospel, to the deepening and celebration of the Christian faith. Others come in search of a moment of tranquility or attracted by the heritage value of these places and a diversified cultural offer.
