Optimize the quality of life of medically fragile.
Community Concerns for the Medically Fragile (CCMF) is a volunteer-driven group dedicated to meeting the needs of medically fragile children and young adults in the Sarnia-Lambton community. Moreover, we strive to assist families with medically fragile children/young adults in their day-to-day challenges, both financially and emotionally, and to raise public awareness about the unique characteristics of the individuals we represent. Our goal is to support medically fragile children and young adults, while recognizing their uniqueness, and their rights to dignity and quality of life. We use the term "medically fragile" to refer to individuals requiring 24-hour medical supervision and intervention, due to conditions such as cerebral palsy, severe epilepsy, paraplegia, etc. These individuals may be technologically dependent, as well as mentally and/or physically challenged.
Community donated funds are used by CCMF to provide a weekly "Hands on Art" program, a Music program and seasonal events for the medically fragile.
Long term, our focus is always ensuring that our residents are happy and thriving. Now that our new four bed expansion has been completed, as in any home, there are always things to update. We pride ourselves in keeping things as current as we are able. Our home, Standing Oaks, allows our residents to enjoy a lifestyle of dignity and quality. We strive to ensure a family oriented atmosphere for our families.
