“A nutritious lunch today… a promising tomorrow.” The School Lunch Association is a registered charity dedicated to ensuring that every child has access to a hot, nutritious lunch at school—regardless of their family’s financial situation. Since our founding in 1989, we have grown from serving 147 meals at a single school to now providing over 6,700 meals daily across 46 schools in Newfoundland and Labrador. We believe that hunger should never be a barrier to learning or participation. Our pay-what-you-can model allows families to contribute what they can—whether that’s the full meal price, a portion, or nothing at all if cost is a barrier. All contributions are confidential, and every child receives the same meal experience, promoting dignity and inclusion. How We Operate: Nutritious, Non-Stigmatizing Meals: Our program is built on compassion, inclusivity, and adherence to provincial nutrition guidelines.
