Help us provide water security by installing large concrete water cisterns, and hand pumps, in each of the schools with completed orchards.
- School Orchards Africa provides funds to purchase, manage, and plant fruit trees in schoolgrounds in rural areas of Tanzania.
- Water security. Our new initiative is to install large concrete water tanks, and hand pumps, in each of the SOAS/TanCan schools. There are two rainy seasons in Tanzania which constantly keep the tanks filled. The water catchment is from the roofs of the schools.
- We have a personal relationship with a group of volunteer Tanzanians in a local NGO called TanCan, who supervise the work.
- Together we help elementary schoolchildren get a better education, learn about food and water security, sequester carbon, and earn money towards their secondary schooling.
