Children Are the Reason We Work Hard for Christian Education

Synergy: the combined power of a group when they are working together that is greater than the total power achieved by each working separately

For four decades, the Society of Christian Schools in British Columbia has been doing collectively what no school could accomplish alone. Together, we work to support the sustainability, growth and development of Christian education throughout the province.

SCSBC provides a wide range of services for its member schools as well as others seeking resources and support in the provision of Christian education. Our member school societies elect a nine-member SCSBC Board, which includes a teacher representative nominated by the Christian Teachers’ Association of BC (CTABC) and a principal representative nominated by the Christian Principals’ Association of BC (CPABC). SCSBC holds a general meeting annually. We are also affiliated with Christian Schools International (CSI) and Christian Schools Canada (CSC).

Our first school was established in 1949. Today the SCSBC is a network of 32 school societies, 39 school campuses, over 100 principals and administrators, over 1,000 teachers and educational support staff, and 12,578 students. SCSBC provides a wide range of services for its member schools as well as others seeking resources and support for their work in Christian education.
