The Selkirk & District Community Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life in Selkirk, the RM of St.Andrews and the RM of St.Clements through the creation and management of funds gifted in perpetuity and the distribution of their earnings for local charitable purposes.
About SELKIRK & DISTRICT COMMUNITY FOUNDATION INC
The Selkirk and District Community Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization incorporated in 1995 for the purpose of distributing charitable funds within the communities of the City of Selkirk, the RM of St.Andrews and the R.M. of St.Clements. The Foundation is not dedicated to one specfic charity.
The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of nine members of the communities who serve without remuneration for three-year terms. The concept of community endowment funds, directed by reepected volunteers, is different from other organizations in that the capital donated to the Foundation is kept in perpetuity and professionally managed. The income earned is distributed to various local charitable projects as approved by the Board of Directors.
