Shadowpath transforms everyday spaces into creative places with their site-specific theatre programming in York Region. They create FREE workshops for youth and seniors and have launched a PAID apprenticeship program for female theatre practitioners. Shadowpath is the recipient of Richmond Hill Creativity Connected Award for Best Innovation for The Cafe Cruise - a project that travelled residents through the downtown core featuring plays in cafes and musicians in the park. Shadowpath also received Newmarket's Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award for Innovation in 2016. Alex Karolyi is the founding Artistic Director and received the Leading Women, Leading Girls Award from MPP Chris Ballard in 2017. Shadowpath received funding from the Ontario150 fund to create a project, Dinner With Canada - reenacting historical Canadian dinners across cultural facilities in York Region. Most recently Shadowpath has received a Community Engagement award from the York Region Arts Council, and Excellence in Heritage Conservation Award from the Lientenant Governor General of Ontario as well as an Arts and Culture award from the Town of Aurora.
