Through nature-based Jewish education, Shoresh leads, inspires, and empowers our community to be Shomrei Adamah, protectors of the earth. We envision and are actively working towards a local Jewish community that is connected to the Earth, to Jewish traditions, and to each other.

• Cultivates deep nature connection while nurturing Jewish identity.  Shoresh’s programs elicit experiences of awe in response to the wonders of the natural world, while teaching the Jewish practices and values that guide us in how to be protectors of the earth’s resources. Our 6 Signature Programs spark belonging from toddlers to adults through Jewish nature connection.    
• Puts Jewish environmental values into practice. Whether it is planting trees in our 20-acre Forest for the Future, creating pollinator habitat in our 4-acre Bee Sanctuary, or through our work at Bela Farm, Shoresh gives community members meaningful opportunities to embody the Jewish values that ground and guide our work.   
• Brings sustainability into Jewish rituals and celebrations. Through Shoresh’s social enterprise, the Shoresh Shuk, we bring the abundance of our fields to the tables of our community members! The sales of our Bela’s Bees Raw Honey, our beeswax Shabbat and Chanukah Candles, and other ritual items support our initiatives whiles deepening the holiday celebrations of our whole community.
