Since 1972, the Sierra Club Canada Foundation has funded important education initiatives and environmental work ranging from small, local projects, to large, multi-year campaigns. Our mission is to advance the preservation and protection of the natural environment with charitable resources. We recognize that we all have a right to a safe and healthy environment: clean air, clean water, open space, wild lands and a healthy and diverse ecosystem. Funds to support our programs and campaigns are generously provided by individual donors, foundations and others who support our goals.
The foundation is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency as a charitable foundation. Our registered charitable number is 11914 9789 RR0001.
About Our Charity
Sierra Club Canada Foundation is a national charitable foundation that provides financial support for charitable works across Canada, both directly and through our regional chapters, Sierra Club Atlantic Canada Chapter, Sierra Club Quebec Chapter, Sierra Club Ontario Chapter, Sierra Club Prairies Chapter, Sierra Club BC Chapter, and our youth wing, Sierra Youth Coalition.
Established in 1972, Sierra Club of Canada Foundation funds a wide range of environmental projects, from scientific research to environmental education.
These funds are largely provided by individual donors and foundations who recognize that we all have a right to a safe and healthy environment with clean air, clean water, open space, wild lands and a healthy and diverse ecosystem.
The Foundation is autonomous and governed by its own Board of Directors, but often works in collaboration with Sierra Club Canada and other partners in pursuing its program goals.
