Back to School is one of SPANL’s primary programs aimed at providing single-parent families with the supplies needed to kick off the new school year. Through Back to School, kids from kindergarten to Grade 12 are equipped with the tools needed for success.
Did you know the average backpack of required school supplies costs $150 per child? Factoring in the cost of inflation, Back to School season can be a financially stressful time for single parents. Last year, SPANL supporters helped us provide nearly 700 children across the province with backpacks filled with school supplies. For nearly 20 years families from every corner of Newfoundland & Labrador have relied on the Back to School program each summer.
With the increased cost of living comes an increased demand for our programs. This year, with your support, we’re aiming to fill 1,000 backpacks to be distributed to children across the province.
