The Sioux-Hudson Literacy Council (SHLC) is a non-profit Literacy and Basic Skills organization funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD). We are a community-based, client-centred group that operates the Sioux Lookout Learning Centre and Good Learning Anywhere (GLA) distance delivery program, serving all of Ontario. We have been serving learners in the Sioux Lookout region since 1993, and all of Ontario for nearly ten years.
Our office and learning center is located in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Canada and we are run by a volunteer board of directors. Our staff and volunteers are here to support and motivate learners as they become better at reading, writing, math, using computers and many other skills.
