Ski for Light Canada organizes and delivers an annual cross country event for visually impaired people in an inclusive and safe environment.
Each winter, Ski for Light Canada, a nonprofit organization, hosts a week-long cross-country skiing event. During the event, visually impaired skiers are paired with sighted volunteer guides. The guide provides directions, skiing tips, as well as support and encouragement. Skiers and guides form strong bonds and friendships. Together they discover that being visually impaired does not need to be a barrier to accomplishing goals, on or off the snow.When participants are not skiing, there are opportunities to relax within a safe, inclusive and equitable community.
