Sloane’s House will be a community based charitable pediatric respite care centre located in Durham Region, Ontario.
Located in the heart of Durham Region, Sloane’s House, will be a welcoming “home away from home” for families of children and youth, twenty-one (21) years and under, with medically complex health needs. Our plan is to create a six to ten (6-10) bed centre, staffed by expert, caring professionals, to serve children, youth and their families living in Durham and the surrounding under-served regions, by offering heart-centred support, in all areas. Sloane’s “home” will be a temporary oasis; a judgement-free place for respite, palliative and end-of-life care, where families will be comforted and cared for based on their values, beliefs, needs, hopes, and goals for the present and future health of their child.
