The mission of the Slocan Lake Arts Council (SLAC) is to stimulate, broaden, encourage and facilitate the continuing development of arts and cultural opportunities, projects and activities in the Slocan Lake Arts Council geographical region.

SLAC provides music, theatre, dance, film and the visual and literary arts opportunities to individuals from the Villages of Silverton and New Denver and includes all communities within Area H such as Enterprise Creek, Rosebery, Hills, Three Forks, Sandon and Cody. Folks from Kaslo, Nakusp, Slocan and the Slocan Valley are welcomed and, with a large summer tourist influx to the region, folks from all over Canada and beyond are also served.

In all its undertakings the society adheres to the following core values: Inspiration, diversity, exploration, education, inclusion, accessibility, collaboration, advocacy, transparency, respect.
