Since 1957, Social Planning Toronto has worked to make our city better for everyone who lives here.We help communities grow stronger by teaching people about their rights, studying city issues, and reporting on what needs to change.We watch the City Budget closely to make sure all communities' needs are included. We help people learn how to speak up at City Hall, especially those who don't often get heard.Our research shows important problems in Toronto. In 2024, we found that child poverty rates in Toronto rose at record levels two years in a row. Toronto now has the unfortunate distinction of being the child poverty capital of Canada.
