ALZHEIMER SOCIETY BROME-MISSISQUOI & HAUTE-YAMASKA

about

History : The Alzheimer Society of Brome-Missisquoi and Haute-Yamaska (formerly known as the Alzheimer Society of Granby and Area) was founded in 1984 by Mrs. Jacqueline Moreau following the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease in her mother. With little money on hand, she went to the Alzheimer Society of the Eastern Townships for help, and with the help of a few volunteers, she launched into action. Recognizing a growing need in the population, she launched a fundraising campaign to sell candles.

Since then, the Alzheimer Society Brome-Missisquoi and Haute-Yamaska has become an autonomous community action organization and is very present in the community to inform the public about the reality of people living with a neurocognitive disorder of the Alzheimer type and their caregivers and the presentation of the services it offers.
