The Foyer Maillard opened its doors as a residence for seniors on May 1, 1969.
The opening of our residence was made possible by a substantial bequest, many donations of hours and capital by community folk, as well as funding and support from CMHC and BC Housing.
We operate under the direction of a non-profit society, the Societe Du Foyer Maillard and we are a registered Charity with Revenue Canada.
The Foyer Maillard started a redevelopment project in 2014 and in June of 2016 our society opened a modern, purpose built residence accommodating 125 seniors/adults who require care.
The Foyer has seen many changes over the years but one thing remains unchanged: The Foyer continues to proudly provide and enhance the community's care and housing needs in a bilingual French/English environment.
