Our mission is to improve the physical, emotional and social well-being of kids in Victoria BC who are .isadvantaged financially or developmentally.We do so by providing free tennis lessons and equipment. Structured physical activity partnered with mentoring by coaches and volunteers achieves our goal.

For the past five years, we have provided free tennis lessons to more than 10,000 children who are disadvantaged by family financial circumstances or by cognitive and/or physical disabilities (Autism, Down Syndrome, Wheelchair Disability). Kids range in age from 5 to 19, with a gender mix of 52% girls/48% boys.

We have expanded the area we serve from Central Victoria to include most of the Capital Regional District.

We run classes in partnership with 47 social agencies andd schools. The City of Victoria Department of Parks & Recreation, 3 Municipal Recreation Centres, 7 Community Centres, 23 Low-Income Schools and 13 Social Agencies. Included in these are 4 Aboriginal groups, 2 New Canadian organizations and 2 dealing with Autism and Down Syndrome.

Our10 Tennis Canada Certified Instructors are assisted by 54 volunteers who have been trained in coaching and first-aid.

With the financial assistance of several community funding organizations we have been able to: purchase sufficient playing equipment , purchase all necessary teaching equipment, pay those instructors who are not volunteering their services and train our volunteers.

Our plans for the future center around reaching greater numbers of children in-need.
