Our vision: a safe world and a better future for refugees.
Our mission: to provide a safe place and create an inclusive environment where refugees are supported and empowered to pursue a life in Canada.
About Our Charity
Sojourn House is the largest refugee shelter in Toronto dedicated to providing housing and support services to recently arrived refugee claimants.
In May 2006 Sojourn House opened it's new building which hosts the shelter, services and 52 units units of supportive transitional housing for refugees experiencing settlement difficulties.
Since 1987, thousands of refugee claimants from more than 75 countries have made Sojourn House their first “home” in Canada.
With professional staff and volunteers on duty 24 hours a day Sojourn House responds to refugee needs by providing supportive counselling, assistance in the resettlement process and help in navigating the complex government process to acquire landed immigrant status and eventually Canadian citizenship.
Your gift will help us to continue to provide appropriate supports which have helped newcomer refugees successfully transition into the Canadian society.
Thank you for helping give refugees hope for the future in a new community!
What People Are Saying
"Sojourn House...I could write a whole book on her. For she has always given me hope and strength to carry on. She made me realize what I'm capable of and that my statues does not define me. She made me realize that although she cannot replace my parents, that she will always be there."
