SOLID's purpose is to empower people with lived and living experience of illicit substance use to design and deliver the services and supports most needed within our community. We have operated in Victoria BC since 2007, providing overdose prevention services, outreach to encampments, pathways to housing and health supports, daily support groups, indigenous-led cultural programs, and overnight sheltering. 

All our services are provided by and for people with lived experience of street life and the circumstances surrounding it, so this work is also a form of vocational therapy and psycho-social healing for our staff and members who have the opportunity to become staff or volunteers. We are committed to responsive, effective services that directly meet the needs of our community. 

Donations go directly to extending and improving our services to help people leave the street and access health supports and long-term housing. 

SOLID provides our services on the traditional, unceded territories of the Lkwungen-speaking peoples (Songhees andEsquimalt). We acknowledge that we are guests on these lands. We are committed to building relationships with local nations to ensure our community work meets the needs of indigenous peoples and settlers who are suffering from lack of access to basic needs such as housing, health, and community supports on these lands. We are committed to maintaining an organization led by, and for, many urban indigenous peoples.
