Our Mission

Our organization was founded on 11 August 1992 on behalf of Regional Service Help and Support for the Defense of Human Rights in Mental Health / Mauritius - Bois- Francs .

On 24 September 1998 , the name was changed by Solidarity Regional Assistance and Support for the Defense of Human Rights in Mental Health / Centre du Québec - Mauricie .

The Ministry of Health and Social Services has studied from 1989 to 1990, a policy on mental health. Following this, he decided to set up in each administrative region of Quebec, a help and support for people with a mental health promotion , protection and respect of the rights of service people .

The S.R.A.A.D.D. / C.-Q.M. wanted to be an organization with a mandate of expertise in human rights and in terms of assistance and support for people with mental health problems .

The help and support is needed and still needs to be accessible to any person or group of person who requests or requires assistance in obtaining access to services , make a complaint or to complete a claim their rights.

We went from two employees to five permanent employees in all different fields of expertise which enables us to respond quickly and appropriately to the needs of people who use our services ( paralegal , lawyer, special education technician , administrative technician - Computer and finally a manager ) .

We have promotional tools - prevention among youth in high schools as well as various organizations and professionals in the field with respect to the rights of people who have or have had a mental health problem .

Fields of action: Consent to care , institutional care , social assistance, housing , RRQI , CSST, SAAQ IVAC , right to information and services, access to records etc. ..

The mission of the organization is to render aid, assistance and information with regard to the rights of people living or having lived mental health when using the services of our company to allow individuals to become full citizens from the following values: social justice, democracy, respect, autonomy, equity and solidarity.

Increase the skills of the person to defend their rights, facilitate access and use of existing remedies.

Together people who have suffered similar injuries in order to initiate a process to restore their rights.

Through various means, encourage them to change the practices of some services that do not respect human rights.

The SRAADD advocates collaboration and coordination with other community organizations within certain spheres of action.
