About SOUTH GRANVILLE SENIORS FRIENDSHIP CENTRE SOCIETY
The South Granville Seniors Centre (est. 1979) is a caring and friendly day-time resource and activity centre that promotes and supports healthy and independent lifestyles by providing programs and services that meet the diverse needs and interests of seniors in our community.
We are a non-profit community centre that has supported healthy and independent lifestyles for local seniors in the South Granville/Fairview area for over 34 years. We have over 450 members; 80% are women over the age of 75. Many members are single or widowed, live on fixed income and are at risk of isolation and depression due to reduced social interaction.
We offer a wide range of wellness, social, and educational programs to our over 400 members. Programs we offer range from a healthy 3-course lunch, computer classes, tai chi, and close to 40 additional programs and services. We have a small, but dedicated, staff team and over 120 volunteers!
