Camp Mewata is a wilderness camp designated for the use and benefit of Girl Guides and youth of the Okanagan. The camp has been owned, operated, and maintained by the South Okanagan Campsite Society for over 60 years. 

Camp Mewata offers the opportunity for youth to reap the social, emotional, and mental benefits of time spent in nature. Surrounded by natural beauty, the 10-acre land provides a peaceful environment for youth to connect to nature, learn valuable camping and survival skills, and participate in hands-on wilderness exploration. Whether it’s learning new skills or simply enjoying the beauty of the great outdoors, this camp offers everything needed for an enriching and adventurous experience. With a focus on adventure, leadership, and outdoor learning, Camp Mewata will be sure to deliver memorable opportunities for personal growth and team building. 

The Society is a dedicated group of volunteers committed to preserving and enhancing Camp Mewata for the use of local Girl Guides and youth. It is through countless hours of volunteer work that the camp continues to operate. We take pride in maintaining the camp’s natural beauty wilderness setting while ensuring the camp remains a safe and welcoming place for all campers to learn, grow, and experience the outdoors.
