The South Riverdale Child-Parent Centre provides programs designed to meet the various needs of individuals caring for children 0-6 years of age and expectant parents.
We are committed to encouraging and supporting positive adult-child relationships, providing opportunities for learning, building on family strengths, and increasing family involvement in the larger community.
About SOUTH RIVERDALE CHILD-PARENT CENTRE
The daily drop in is our core program. Adults and the children in their care are welcome to come and spend time in our comfortable neighbourhood space.
Children have the opportunity to play in a safe, stimulating and pleasant environment. Our program includes a snack for the children, followed by a song circle.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to share information, develop friendships and networks within the community and are provided with opportunities for learning about child-development, community resources and volunteer opportunities within the Centre.
Additionally, some of the other free resources we provide include: workshops, outings, a toy lending library, a parenting resource library and children's clothing exchange.
In conjunction with all our programs, we also offer resource information, informal counselling, referral services and advocacy work to help resolve difficulties that may have an impact on healthy family development.
