The South Simcoe Railway is a non-profit, volunteer-based, historical organization dedicated to the preservation and operation of railway equipment from Canada's steam era.
Excursion trains operate periodically from Easter weekend through mid-October. Heavyweight coaches are pulled by one of the railway's vintage locomotives on a one-hour trip from Tottenham to Beeton through the Beeton Creek Valley.
The railway provides its passengers with a taste of branch line railroading, as many Canadians experienced through the 1950s.
The vast majority of the railway's revenues come through the sale of excursion tickets. Donations allow the railway additional flexibility in preserving its equipment, most of which is a century or more old and requires constant attention.
