We are a team of highly trained volunteers which aid in the search of lost or missing people, evidence searches for law enforcement (R.C.M.P.), local administrators for the missing persons technology used by Project Life Saver and community volunteers providing local services such as traffic control.

As part of the province’s Emergency Measures Office, our members can be called out for such emergencies as major power outages and storm disasters.

In 2017, our team of approximately 35 members provided over 5,000 volunteers hours to our local community and the Province of Nova Scotia. 

Our team has partnered up with a local off highway club to put on a re-occurring ATV rally where we split the proceeds.

Our members volunteer their time to conduct firearm and hunter safety courses which contribute towards our regular costs of operation. This fundraising, however, isn't bringing in enough money for the team to move forward as courses are being offered elsewhere.  

Springhill Ground Search and Rescue is respectfully asking for your support in our pursuit to acquire much needed infrastructure to continue our on going commitment to aid the lost and\or missing person

Because we are a non-profit volunteer organization, all of the funds that we raise are used for equipment, training, maintainence of the hall and day to day expenses. Our members are very dedicated to doing what we do, spending hours training and preparing, taking courses or refreshing skills that they do have. Some of our members donate more than 200 hours a year. We are a vital element for Springhill, Amherst, Oxford, Parrsboro and most of the Cumberland County area. We provide assistance to the R.C.M.P. and Springhill Town Police for missing person searches and evidence searches, to Cumberland E.M.O. and Springhill E.M.O. during any emergency situations or disasters.
