COVID 19 UPDATE: Squamish Food Bank is dedicated to feeding those in need and in light of Covid 19 our top priority was to continue helping our community whilst keeping everybody safe. Since 20 April, the Squamish Food Bank has been collaborating with Squamish Helping Hands and we have moved to a home delivery model, delivering weekly hampers of nutritious food and supplies to individuals and families who need support during these tough times. We need your help now more than ever. We would typically rely on surplus food from local grocery stores to fill our shelves but we have noticed a huge decrease in the amount of staple food items being donated at this time. Therefore we are having to buy most of the food items that go in to the hampers and this is costing around $3,400 per week. Pre Covid 19 we would typically distribute approximately 60 hampers every 2 weeks, currently we are building and delivering over 200 hampers every week. We expect this to increase well in to the summer.
Your donations can help provide food for those in our community who need support through these unprecedented times.

Squamish Food Bank Pre Covid 19:We are located in the BC Rail yards in a large warehouse, offering a grocery store style experience for our participants. Empowering people to make their own choices about what food they would like and enabling participants to feel respected and dignified.
Over the last few years there has been a steady increase in the number or food bank recipients. Over 25% of those are children. Our Squamish Seniors are also a part of a growing trend of new customers. As well as single and two parent families who struggle with the increase in food and rental costs.
The cost of living here is a big part of what brings people through our doors. Our demographic is wide, it also includes low income working families and those on disability.
Please support the Squamish Food Bank! Thank you!
